Advanced Workshops of the Australia Alumni Professional Held in Makassar and Jakarta

Three of big university in Indonesia, Universitas Indonesia (UI), Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), and Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS) in Makassar, deliver advanced workshops program to develop research collaboration and partnership with three university from Australia; Griffith University, within a consortium of James Cook University and Charles Darwin University.

Anni Bohn, Project Manager International Business Development Unit| Alumni Engagement Coordinator for Alumni Professional Development Program told to Tribun, Thursday (26/10/2017), the workshops are a part of the Alumni Professional Development Program (APDP), a component of Australia Awards Indonesia (AAI) and an initiative of the Australian Government.

“We’re proud to held this program with Indonesian alumni. We have more inisiative for the past,” she said at Harper Perintis Hotel, Perintis Kemerdekaan Km 18 street, Makassar, ar second days workshop.

Alumni are selected from industry, government, research institutions and academia.

She told, the Program is designed to help build research publication capability of Indonesian academics and practitioners who have studied in Australia and foster Australia-Indonesia research collaboration.

These workshops will offer an innovative one-day session on Media Publication for Australian Alumni. They will focus on writing for media publication in Indonesia, and internationally, and will introduce the concept of writing informative articles for the general public.

Speakers at this session include high-level members of the Indonesian press such as Devi Asmarani, Founder and Chief Editor, Magdalene (online Jakarta Post); Hermien Kledeni, Chief Editor Tempo English; Prodita Sabarina Editor, The Conversation; Devi Asmarani, Founder and Chief Editor, Magdalene; and Nur Thamzil Tahir, Vice Editor in Chief, Tribun Timur.

Previously a two-day Mentoring Workshop was held in May 2017 and was followed by a three-day Inception Workshop in July 2017 in Makassar and Jakarta.

The program will culminate in a two-day International Conference in Jakarta on January 17 and 18, 2018 which will cover the latest innovations in research communication, collaboration and mentoring, celebrate successful Indonesia-Australia collaboration to date, and consider options for nurturing future collaboration.
